Guess Who's Turning 50 Next Year?You're Invited to a BIG Celebration!View 50th Anniversary Treks

Blessed with an extensive coastline, diverse cultures and a vibrant arts heritage, Mozambique is a rewarding destination for the intrepid traveller. Even though the 17-year civil war ended in the early 1990s, tourism is still in its infancy and travel here is an adventure requiring patience, time and a willingness to rough it somewhat.

While Mozambique may lack the infrastructure of some of its neighbours, it's certainly not short on natural beauty and cultural highlights. Portuguese, African and Arab influences combine to produce a colourful local culture, and Maputo shines as one of the continent's most appealing capitals. Mozambique's trump card is its stunning palm-studded coast, an endless span of pristine beaches hugged by warm tropical waters and coral reefs rich with marine life.

Relax on the tranquil tropical beaches of Bilene, and dive among sea life on the untouched coral reefs of Inhambane. Explore the idyllic white-sand islands of the Bazaruto archipelago aboard a traditional wooden dhow, and discover the lively culture, cuisine and architecture of Maputo - the "African Riviera".

Join us as we explore this unspoiled gem of southeast Africa!

Our all inclusive approach

From comfortable accommodation and private vehicles to experienced drivers and top quality service, our Mozambique itineraries offer great value for money. Additionally, we aim to incorporate as many inclusions as possible in the tour cost such as most meals, entry fees and excusions.

Authentic experiences

Our adventures in Mozambique offer a myriad of optional activities for those looking for a relaxing beach holiday from snorkelling the coral reefs of Inhambane to indulging in excellent seafood and experiencing the melting pot of Portuguese and African cultures.

Experienced local guides

Our expert guides are passionate about Mozambique and its people, cuisine and culture, and will do their utmost to ensure that you have an enjoyable and seamless experience.

Leaders in responsible travel

Responsible travel practice is at the heart of every program that we offer in Mozambique. When you book one of our adventures you're making a difference by supporting local, sustainable tourism initiatives in the protection of local communities and natural environments.

Deforestation alleviation

When cooking, we use gas to avoid depleting limited wood resources. We take all waste out and use responsible waste disposal facilities.

Plastic bottle reduction

To reduce the amount of plastic water bottles purchased by travelers our vehicles have a tank of clean drinking water that is filled up along the journey.

Community engagement

At local markets we encourage travellers to barter (gently and in good humor) with the local people while remaining mindful that this is their livelihood.

Hotels

In cities or large towns you will be accommodated in 3 star, twin share properties that are centrally located, comfortable and reliable.

Chalets/guesthouses

We use quality 2 to 3 star chalets or guesthouses. They can be rustic; however we ensure that they provide a comfortable and friendly experience.

Camping

We offer two styles of camping; fully supported and semi-participation. Both styles feature quality two person tents erected in scenic wilderness.

Currency

Mozambican Metical

Visa & Mastercard are accepted in major cities and tourist centres such as Vilanculous. Outside these areas it is difficult to use credit cards. Note that merchant fees can be high on credit card purchases. Amex and Diners cards are very rarely accepted.

Do not rely on automatic teller machines (ATM’s) however they may be available in some areas.

We recommend that you travel with USD cash (printed after 2006 and in denominations smaller than $100 bills) or EUR cash. Make sure your cash notes are clean and undamaged as many banks and change bureau will not accept dirty, damaged or torn notes. It is useful to bring along some small denomination notes as you can pay for curios, drinks and restaurant meals in USD or EUR if you run out of local currency.

Visas

Visas for Mozambique are required for the following nationalities:

United States of America

Canada

United Kingdom

Australia

New Zealand

All other nationalities should check with your nearest embassy or consulate.

Please note: there is no diplomatic representation in Australia or New Zealand for Mozambique. Your passport and visa application can be sent to London for processing. Please allow sufficient time (at least 5 weeks) for this to happen prior to your departure. Obtaining a visa at land border posts into Mozambique is currently possible but is subject to change without notice.

As of May 2013, the Mozambican government has imposed a strict stance on the enforcement of visa regulations at all borders following problems with illegal immigrants. Border visas will only be issued to tourists if they came from countries where there is no Mozambican consular representation. Travellers from countries with a Mozambique consulate must obtain their visa prior to visiting and, if not, will be turned back at the land border or airport.

Please contact us if you would like to obtain a quote for your trip duration.

We suggest that you consult your doctor, local government inoculation centre or a travel medical specialist in order to get the most current advice regarding vaccination requirements.

Money and valuables should always be stored safely when travelling. Keep your passport with you at all times and do not leave it in your main luggage. You will need it to change money and check into hotels. Where safety deposit boxes are available, we recommend that you use them. Keep jewellery and valuables to a minimum.
