Guess Who's Turning 50 Next Year?You're Invited to a BIG Celebration!View 50th Anniversary Treks

A guided walking or trekking trip is ideal for active travellers who prefer the camaraderie of like-minded walkers from around the world and appreciate the local knowledge shared by expert local guides.

Experienced local bi-lingual guides, small groups of a typical maximum 16, reliably sourced local transport, quality meals, well-chosen accommodations, properly paced walks and treks at altitude and local back up and support; the quality of our guided walks and treks has been crafted over four decades.

As one of the world’s first trekking and walking specialists, our pioneering heritage for creating high quality guided treks and walks to emerging destinations and the lesser visited mountains, valleys and villages in classic destinations means our hikers experience once-in-a-lifetime adventures.

Our treks in the world’s great mountain ranges travel well beyond where everyone else’s ends. Enhancing your journey with new, authentic travel experiences, genuine cultural exchange and moments of real exploration are the key ingredients that keep our return travellers coming back for even more travel inspiration.

On a guided walking tour, you’ll share memories and laughs with travellers around the world. It’s the kindred spirits that you’ll meet on our guided treks and walks that forge lifelong treasured friendships.

World Expeditions is one of the world’s leading trekking and walking specialists.

Our trekking heritage dates back to 1975, when we offered our first guided trekking holiday in Nepal. In the years that followed, we expanded our operations into other Himalayan destinations as well as South America, Asia, Africa, and Australia.

We have pioneered many walking world firsts, including the first to offer commercial walks in Japan, Mongolia, Tibet, and Australia’s Larapinta Trail. We were also the first to offer the Great Himalaya Trail in 2010, a 6-month traverse across Nepal from east to west.

Our all-inclusive trips will provide you with quality inclusions, nutritious meals, and highly trained, experienced guides.

Since our first trek we have followed a ‘leave no trace’ philosophy to help ensure we leave a small footprint on the places and people we visit.

World Expeditions is committed to responsible travel and true sustainability. It was a commitment formed when the company was established, and today, in the face of a multitude of threats to global environments and cultures, our commitment is stronger than ever. Over several decades we have honed our responsible travel philosophy and are continually assessing and improving initiatives that are practiced in the field to ensure that we are mitigating our impact to the smallest possible footprint. 1
Discovery & Cruising

These are our least demanding trips. These journeys of discovery and cruises involve little or no extended activity. The itinerary may take place in remote areas (with basic facilities) and may involve long travel days on various types of transport. Sightseeing may be conducted on foot and all participants should be capable of carrying their own luggage from vehicle to hotel rooms. These adventures do not go above 2500m and rarely involve camping.

2
Adventure Touring

These adventure tours sometimes involve travel at high altitude (rarely exceeding 4000m, except on certain trips in Tibet, Peru and India) and may visit remote areas of the world where facilities are often basic. Many of these trips sometimes involve some camping or basic lodging. These adventure tours will often involve long journeys and rough roads. Sightseeing and optional day walks are often included and these days may involve up to 5 hours of physical activity.
