Trip Code: LTT

We pick you up from your Darwin accommodation between 7:00 and 7:30am, before heading south on the Stuart Highway to the Territory Wildlife Park. This is the best place to see and interact with native wildlife from Tropical Northern Australia. We take the opportunity to explore their highlight attractions in the stunning bushland setting. Around lunchtime we take a refreshing dip in Berry Springs, one of the most beautiful spots to cool off and relax. In the early afternoon we transfer to Litchfield National Park and begin our trek for the day. The creeks and springs around this region have a constant supply of water, and therefore an abundance of remarkable flora and fauna. Along our walk we can see tall Carpentaria palms, fig trees and weeping paperbark trees, and along the forest floor we can spot geckos, lizards and frogs. Upon reaching the top of Tjaetaba Falls we take a moment to catch our breath at the lookout and admire this Aboriginal sacred site and the creek below before enjoying the revitalising plunge pool. In the afternoon we have a short transfer to our base campsite at Wangi Falls for the next 4 nights where our professional guides will delight us with an appetising meal around the campfire. It's not hard to understand why this area attracts both locals and travellers with its large, deep waterhole that allows for a natural shower right under the falls. Walking distance: 3km | Driving time: approx 2.5 hours

Our walk today has us heading straight out of our picturesque campsite and towards the famous Florence Falls. Along the way we will admire the large castle-shaped boulders as we follow the paperbark and pandanus-lined Wangi Creek. Along the way we will enjoy a delicious picnic lunch prepared by our guides. We finish our trek in the afternoon with a relaxing swim in one of the stunning Top End waterholes before making our way back to our base camp for the evening. Tonight our guides will prepare another delightful meal before allowing for an early night to recoup under the stars. Walking distance: 17km

Today’s trek allows us to visit the spectacular Florence Falls early in the morning before most people arrive. After marveling at the panoramic views of the gorge, open valley, and the waterhole from above there will be time to enjoy a tranquil dip in the crystal clear waters. We will then keep moving towards our goal for the day and really start to experience the remote wilderness the Top End has to offer. We will take in the changing landscape through unusual sandstone formations to lush rainforest. In the afternoon we will arrive at Walker Creek, where we can enjoy the opportunity to cool off and relax in the secluded creek bed. After our refreshing swim we will have a short transfer back to our basecamp at Wangi Falls. This evening you may like to venture the short distance to Wangi Falls for an evening dip - a truly stunning spot to watch the sunset on another adventurous day. Walking distance: 11km

Meals:  B,L,D

Our morning trek has us exploring a more commonly stark and dry area of the track. However we'll keep a keen eye out for the vibrant wildflowers that still dot the landscape such as the Pink Turkey Bush and Good's Grevillea. We might experience some recently burnt areas due to prescribed burns. This is important land management that local Aboriginal people have been putting into practice for thousands of years in the aim to stop wildfires during the spring and encouraged new growth. In the early afternoon we will have the opportunity to venture the short side track to Tjenya Falls and the surrounding waterholes for a picturesque lunch stop. After lunch we allow for plentiful time exploring arguably the best section of the Tabletop Trek. Our afternoon starts with an uphill section that satisfies us with expansive awe-inspiring views upon reaching the top. We'll spend the rest of the day following the creek line with plenty of rockpools tempting us in for a refreshing dip. As we stick close to the waterline today we enjoy the darts of colour from local birdlife such as the rainbow Bee-eater or Northern Rosella. Enjoy the melodic flow of cascading water intertwined with a thriving eco-system. This afternoon we walk right into our comfortable camp at Wangi Falls before enjoying our final night together as a group. Walking distance: 18.5km

Meals:  B,L,D

For our final day on the picturesque Tabletop Trek we walk straight out of our campsite to depart on our morning walk. Completing the final section of the Tabletop trek today we will have the opportunity to enjoy the best the Top End has to offer from monsoon forest to savannah woodlands. The divide between dry grasslands and lush forest is quite a contrast but it allows us an insight into the harshness of the landscape and how life can really thrive when given the right conditions. Our lunch spot today on top of Tjaetaba Falls allows for a cool and relaxing spot to marvel at all we have achieved over the last 5 days. We enjoy our final swim in the stunning crystal clear waters of the Top End before making our way back towards Darwin. We will have the chance to stop off at the interesting Termite Mounds site where we can learn the important role these tiny insects play in the surrounding environment. We aim to drop you back at your accommodation between 3.30-4.30pm. This evening your group may like to meet at one of Darwin's great eateries for a celebratory dinner! Walking distance: 8.5km | Driving time: approx 1.5-2 hours
