  • Vehicle supported cycling so you can cycle as little or as much as you wish

Over six days this complete active adventure traverses all the must-see highlights of Tasmania’s spectacular East Coast. With a combination of vehicle supported cycling, kayaking and walking you will make the absolute most of this adventure playground.

On this trip you will cycle through picturesque rural landscapes, past vineyards and lush orchards, along stunning coastline, and down deep forested valleys. You will experience the vivid colours of The Bay of Fires by bike. You will kayak the sparkling aquamarine waters of Freycinet National Park and walk to one of the world’s most beautiful beaches – Wineglass Bay. While in Freycinet you’ll taste the local wines and visit a fresh oyster farm. Next you’ll catch a ferry to Maria Island and cycle through the National Park discovering the rich history, world class scenery and extremely friendly wildlife. You’ll spend a day on the Tasman Peninsula, walking part of the Three Capes Walk and joining a Ghost Tour of the Port Arthur Historic Site. A drive to the summit of Kunanyi (Mt Wellington) is the fitting conclusion to this fun filled trip. This tour caters to a wide range of fitness levels, with the constant support of guides and vehicle, so you can complete as many or as few kilometres as you please.

Each day we make the most of the great outdoors, and each evening is spent celebrating and relaxing over a delicious 3-course meal showcasing the finest of Tasmania’s famous produce.

We paddle our way beneath the imposing Hazards Range and across Great Oyster Bay, keeping an eye out for White-bellied Sea Eagles and the occasional friendly seal! Your kayaking guides revel in sharing the National Park’s fascinating history with you. After breakfast we swap the paddles and pedals for our walking boots. We’ll walk the popular trail into Wineglass Bay for a lunchtime swim at this iconic beach. We start our day with a transfer to Triabunna (about 1 hour and 45 mins), then we’ll jump on the ferry to Maria Island. This 30 minute ferry trip across Mercury Passage docks at Darlington on Maria Island. Maria Island is one of Tasmania’s least visited yet most wonderful locations – you will be completely captivated from the moment you step ashore. The island has a rich history from Aboriginal habitation, to convict penal station, farming, and the National Park it is today. We take our bike across to Maria Island (an island, off an island, off an island). We will spend the day in the saddle exploring the Painted Cliffs and Fossil Cliffs, picnicking with the locals (wombats, pademelons and Cape Barren geese) and sharing stories of the island's Convict past. We take the return ferry back to Triabunna late this afternoon. Cycling distance: 15km | Cycling time: about 4 hours with stops. Overnight: Orford

Meals:  B,L,D

After a delicious breakfast we will start our drive to turrakana/Tasman Peninsula (about 1 hour and 45 mins) home of the iconic Three Capes Walk and the highest sea cliffs in the Southern Hemisphere. We will tackle the first leg of that iconic trail today on a return hike to Cape Hauy. The views on the walk are spectacular, with ocean views on both sides of the cape. A short drive will bring us to Port Arthur where we will spend the night. For our final night of the trip we will embark on a lantern-lit Ghost Tour around the infamous buildings of the Port Arthur Historic Site. Walking distance: 9.5km | Walking time: 5 hours. Overnight: Port Arthur.

Meals:  B,L,D

This morning we drive to kunanyi/Mt Wellington (about 2 hours) for our final adventure together. The backdrop to Hobart is the impressive dolerite organ pipes of kunanyi, or Mt Wellington. We will drive to the 1270m summit for expansive views of the Derwent Valley. On the summit we will hop back on our bikes for the legendary Mt Wellington Descent, enjoying the wind in our hair for 6km of downhill riding towards the city lights. After a final lunch and some goodbye hugs you will be dropped off the Hobart Grand Chancellor where the trip concludes. Accommodation is not included tonight but our team is a happy to assist with booking this in. Cycling distance: 6km.
