 10 day voyage
9 nights aboard Plancius
Explore Spitsbergen’s vast beauty and unique wildlife The island of Kvitøya (the “White Island”) is one of the least visited places in Svalbard, the spectacular ice‐covered archipelago halfway between Norway and the North Pole. Following a flexible itinerary, this exploratory voyage aboard the vessel Plancius aims to land on Kvitøya along with various spots on Svalbard’s largest island, Spitsbergen, offering access to some of the Arctic’s most rewarding landscapes and wildlife encounters. With ample opportunities to observe playful grey seals, packed walrus haulouts and polar bears roaming the ice in search of food, we’ll also keep watch for little auk, black and Brünnich’s guillemot, Arctic skua and puffin colonies. Zodiacs ferry us to shore to walk across the tundra, up to high points for sweeping views across the vast glaciated inland and down to the iceberg‐strewn bay where
our ship is dwarfed by the monumental landscape.
