This voyage is an ideal introduction to small ship expedition cruising in the remote Canadian Arctic
This journey following in the footsteps of British explorer Sir John Franklin will appeal to anyone with an interest in Arctic wildlife and the dramatic history of early polar exploration. We will trace the routes of the early explorers who sailed, and perished, in these waters as they sought a way through the fabled Northwest Passage. Our itinerary includes a visit to one of the largest migratory bird sanctuaries in the world, and we hope to enjoy frequent sightings of seals as well as beluga whales. The legendary narwhal inhabits these waters, and we also hope to encounter polar bears at special locations that we have discovered over the years.

A unique voyage that combines the history
of Canadian exploration while hitting some
of the High Arctic wildlife super‐spots
Commencing in Resolute, the second most northerly settlement in the Canadian Arctic, this stunning 10‐day voyage is the perfect blend of history, culture, wildlife and scenery, with immediate immersion into the dramatic Arctic wilderness. Long daylight hours give us maximum time to explore known wildlife hot spots including one of the world’s largest migratory bird sanctuaries at Prince Leopold Island. History is a key focus on our journey and we plan to visit numerous Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) outposts such as Grise Fjord, Craig Harbour and Dundas Harbour. A highlight for many will be a visit to remote Beechey Island, the final resting place of several men from Sir John Franklin’s ill‐fated expedition in the 1840s. Along the ice floe edge we hope to encounter beluga and bowhead whales as well as the legendary narwhal. Possible sightings of polar bear can also be expected at numerous locations throughout the voyage.
