As a traveller, you can make a difference simply by the choices you make. As a leader in Responsible Travel initiatives, we aim to empower our travellers with ideas on how you can be part of the solution and collectively make the world a better place when you travel. We continue to bring awareness to the fact that tourism acts as a catalyst for positive change in developing nations and have been at the forefront of sustainable tourism for over forty years. We collaborate with and seek guidance from a range of expert organisations to ensure that our philosophy and in-the-field operations reflect current sustainable best practice. We want you to have the most amazing big adventure whilst leaving the smallest of footprints in the regions you travel.
LEAVE NO TRACE
We operate our treks on the ethics of minimal impact, adhering to the Seven Principles of Leave No Trace:
Mountain porters are an integral part of each World Expeditions trekking or mountaineering adventure. On a trek or climb, the entire group - travellers, guides and porters alike - are a team who share the same needs for safety in the mountain environment. Our Porter Welfare Code of Conduct ensures safe working conditions for the mountain porters we employ.
You can mitigate the climate change impact of your international flights for as little as NZD$28 (1 tonne of carbon). Your NZD$28 purchases
a carbon credit that supports wind powered energy projects in China, Turkey or India. You will be helping to shift the world’s focus from fossil fuel energy to renewable energy.
A plus for our planet!
