RESPONSIBLE TRAVEL
KEEPING BEAUTIFUL PLACES BEAUTIFUL
e year 2017 marked the International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development. Now is a time to celebrate and bring awareness to the fact that tourism acts as a catalyst for positive change in developing nations. We’ve been at the forefront of sustainable tourism for over forty years and it continues to underpin our programs.
LEAVE NO TRACE
We operate our treks on the ethics of minimal impact, adhering to the Seven Principles of Leave No Trace:
Mountain porters are an integral part of each World Expeditions trekking or mountaineering adventure. Taking you o the beaten path means that we use the self-su ciency of camping; a style of trekking that is enabled
by mountain porters. On a trek or climb, the entire group - travellers, guides and porters alike - are a team who share the same needs for safety in the mountain environment. Our Porter Welfare Code of Conduct ensures safe working conditions for the mountain porters we employ.
You can mitigate the climate change impact of your international ights for as little
as AUD$22 (1 tonne of carbon). Your AUD$22 purchases a carbon credit that supports wind powered energy projects in China, Turkey or India. You will be helping to shift the world’s focus from fossil fuel energy to renewable energy. A plus for our planet!
