ITINERARY: DAY 1 | Arrive Bucharest, train to Brasov, transfer to the first guesthouse in a traditional village 2 | Walk to Bran Castle, mythical home of Dracula (4hrs) 3 | Continue on foot through Piatra Craiului mountains and rural villages (5hrs) 4 | Walk to Bucegi Mountains through picture postcard landscapes (4.5hrs) 5 | Ascend the Bucegi Mountains with stunning views (4.5 or 6hrs) 6 | Transfer to Brasov for train to Bucharest, trip concludes
INCLUSIONS: MEALS: 5 breakfasts, 4 picnic lunches, 5 dinners ACCOMMODATION: 5 nights rural pensions usually twin share with ensuite facilities (shared facilities on one night) BACKUP & SUPPORT: information pack including route notes & maps per room booked, luggage transfer, emergency hotline TRANSPORT: train from Bucharest to Brasov and return & private transfers from Brasov train station to Magura and from Moeciu to Brasov train station
NOTES: For departures in April, early May and October, shorter walks are available if there is snow. This trip is suitable for solo travellers who are very experienced map readers only. A guided trip for groups of 6 or more people can be arranged on request.
